Young Moms' Night Out
August 9th, 2019
6pm to 9pm
Calvary Assembly of God
605 Lackawanna Ave. Woodland Park, NJ
Young Moms’ Night Out is an event for millennial and generation Z moms (late teens through early 30s) with the goal of each guest coming and leaving refreshed, inspired, and connected to other young moms. Our goal is that each young mom would feel welcome in a setting that is customized specifically for women in her season of life. We want her to leave feeling full from a delicious meal, empowered spiritually, refreshed relationally, and with a few surprises to keep the celebration of young motherhood going when she gets home. We also want to make this event as easy as possible for moms to attend, so we have made it FREE to attend and we are providing childcare as needed.
What to Expect
Come as you are! You can dress down or dress up as much as you want; whatever makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. When you arrive we will check you in and help you get settled with appetizers and beverages. Then you'll be free to mingle and explore our interactive stations until dinner is served. Home-cooked soul food is on the menu while you'll enjoy live music playing. Our host, Imani Ackerman, and guest speaker Desirae Harden will encourage and empower you while you're eating dessert. You'll be sent home with a bag of goodies. Our goal is for you to leave feeling blessed without hurting your budget (it's completely free).
Childcare spaces are limited for this event due to the intentionally intimate space of our venue. If you need childcare in order to attend, be sure to select "yes" under the childcare option when registering. We ask that you please be mindful of other guests who need childcare by acknowledging the following. Please only bring your own children, and note that you may only use childcare if you are actually present for the entire evening. We are happy to provide this service for mamas who otherwise wouldn't be able to attend. Thank you for understanding!
If you will be using our childcare services, know that we aim to give your child the safest care. Before the event we will discuss your child's needs for feeding, hygiene, play and sleeping. Older children will be able to watch an age-appropriate movie, do crafts and play games. Our workers will be background checked and at least one will be CPR/First-aid certified. We want you to be at ease so that you can enjoy your night!
Do I need to bring money to Young Moms' Night Out?
No. This event is completely free, you do not need to bring money for this event.
I am going to be late that day. Should I still come?
Absolutely! The night will be jam-packed with things that will bless you. We'd love to hang with you, even just for a little while. Be sure to register so that we know to hold your spot.
I am not a "young mom," may I still attend?
Unfortunately, no. We kind of hoped that this event would sound so amazing that almost everyone would want to participate. However we have found that most young moms have probably never had an evening dedicated to them, let alone in a church venue. Therefore, we have decided to make it a little exclusive so that we can specifically target their needs. That being said, if you are not a young mom we ask you to please respect the hard work and funding that has been put in to make this a success, and sit out of this one. On the other hand, if you are interested in volunteering or being a sponsor, we welcome you to join us! More info on that below.
Will you be having vendors at this event?
We will not be having "vendors" in the traditional sense because we want this event to be completely free for the moms. However, we welcome sponsors who are willing to donate products for our interactive booths and goodie bags. Sponsors may include business owners who are willing to donate free samples and/or full-sized products. Sponsors can also be anyone who is wiling to purchase and donate products that they know young moms will love from stores like Target, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, or even their local dollar store. We also accept gift cards (Target, Amazon, BJs). New, unopened products only. Please do not donate gift baskets or make monetary donations. To be a sponsor for Young Moms' Night Out, please email Imani at email@example.com with "Young Moms' Night Out" in the subject line. Thank you!
How can I volunteer for this event?
We need volunteers who are willing to be servers, help us set up and tear down, assist with check-in and check-out, and background-checked childcare workers. We also welcome service-based business owners to donate an hour of their service for our moms (i.e. massage therapists, manicurists, etc.). If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email Imani at firstname.lastname@example.org with "Young Moms' Night Out" in the subject line. Thank you!
